Consulting & strategy
People are talking to one other online about… well, about everything. They may be talking about you and your business or your cause.
Are you part of this conversation?
Social media can broadly be defined as conversations and communities enabled by digital technology. Think blogs, think social networks like Facebook and Twitter, think ‘user-generated content’. It’s an evolution of the old model where a company or a charity could ‘broadcast’ a one-way message to an audience. That audience isn’t content to absorb your messages now. It wants to talk back. It wants to talk to you.
So, with social media the conversation becomes two-way. You listen, you connect directly with people who are interested in what you do, and you empower your supporters and beneficiaries to contribute their own ideas and content and actions.
As a marketing strategy, social media can be a powerful and cost-effective means of reaching new people in new ways – people who are using Facebook and Twitter and blogs but will probably never visit your website.
If you’re a charity, social media can also – crucially – be part of your fundraising strategy.
